Swan Song Studies examines the coexistence of light in darkness and the darkness in light .

How these opposing forces with in us transform one another as they shape everything we are.

A highly personal journey through the complex perception of self, loneliness, and the overarching unity we often fail to notice. If we are lucky we get to plan when something will come to an end…in truth, we are not guaranteed another moment.

DIRECTORS NOTES

I was inspired to create this production for Stephanie and myself as a means of exploring the journey towards our final “swan song”. As we approach the age of Fifty, thoughts of the end of our dancing days are becoming more eminent. This show is an honest look at the complexity of our feelings about our bodies, our abilities, our limitations and expectations. This process was unique as I handed over control in creation of the soundtrack to the amazing Daron Walker. A leap of faith that both inspired and supported me on every level!
