Legible Bodies- Embodied Performing Workshop : $45 Sponsor

$45.00

Sunday, August 2 · 1–4 PM

Strange Loop Laboratory · 1629 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis

Led by Strange Loop Projects Artistic Director Zhauna Franks.

A workshop for dancers, actors, and movement artists focused on one specific skill: making clear physical choices — and being believed. Using Strange Loop Laboratory's real architecture as a working constraint, performers build and test physical decisions that read as natural and legible up close, in an immersive, non-proscenium setting.

Drawing on the same generative method behind Strange Loop's Fresh Baked series, participants work from randomly assigned action prompts, using the real space to ground each choice in something physical and specific.

Open to all levels. Some performance experience helpful but not required.

$45 — Sponsor: Covers your spot and helps make space for someone attending at the Pay What You Can or Free tier. Your support keeps this workshop accessible to everyone who wants to be in the room.

About the instructor Zhauna Franks has spent four decades as a performer, director, and choreographer, and is the founder of Strange Loop Projects. Her immersive theater credits include Punchdrunk's Sleep No More and Third Rail Projects' Then She Fell, and her work has been recognized by the Star Tribune's "Top 10 Dance Productions of the Year."
